The Kakhovska Hydropower Plant is located on the Dnieper River in Ukraine, about 60 km upstream from the Black Sea. It was built between 1950 and 1956 and has a capacity of 662 MW, making it one of the largest hydroelectric power stations in Ukraine. The power plant consists of two dam sections, an intake structure, and a powerhouse with ten generating units. The plant provides electricity to the southern regions of Ukraine and helps regulate the flow of the Dnieper River for irrigation and transportation purposes. The Kakhovska Hydropower Plant also serves as a popular tourist attraction and fishing spot in the area.
